Registration Information

Katoomba Little Athletics is a family friendly Centre that always welcomes new members.  Our aim is to provide the best possible opportunity for members to experience a broad range of athletic activties in a safe and organised environment. However, as with all organisations there are some minimum requirements that need to be met.

This page provides information for both new and returning members.

What ages can register?

Registrations at Katoomba start at the Tiny Tot (4yr olds) and goes through to the under 17 age group. Ages are dependent on the athlete date of birth at the beginning of the season.

*** Please note that all new athletes will be required to provide proof of age (Birth Certificate, Passport, Blue book etc).

Do I have to register to compete?

It is compulsory to register with Katoomba to compete at our centre. There is an exception for registered members of other Little Athletics Centres who may compete at our centre as a visitor.

How much does it cost to register?

The committee of Katoomba consider a number of factors each year in determining our registration fees. Charges passed onto us from Little Athletics New South Wales and Blue Mountains City Council must be considered along with other running costs associated with the Centre such as equipment upkeep, trophies etc.

The Registration fees for the 2018/19 season for single members are:

Tiny Tots: $135.00

Under 7 to Under 17: $180.00

*** Payments must be made online when registering online through the Little Athletics NSW website.

*** Family discounts are offered online for families that have more than 1 family member registering.

*** Registration fees do not include uniform

*** All registration fees must be paid in full before athletes will be allowed to compete.

Do I need to wear a set uniform?

Participation in Little Athletics requires all athletes to wear the approved Little Athletics attire in the colours and design of the Athlete's registered Centre. The full uniform must be worn including the Centre, athlete number and sponsorship patches.  All attire, with the exception of footwear, is available for purchase at the Centre. The fit-out costs for each competitor range between $60-70 for a top and shorts.

The wearing of spikes for competition needs to meet the requirements of Little Athletics NSW. These rules surrounding these vary depending on the age of the athlete. Refer to the Little Athletics NSW website for details

Parent Involvement

Katoomba Little Athletics centre is run entirely by volunteers. The Centre could not run without the support and assistance of parents. The saying many hands make light work is true for Little Athletics, the more helpers we have the less work everyone needs to do. It is for this reason we ask that every parent/guardian provides some assistance at our Saturday competition. We only ask that you do what you are able and there is always a committee member or more experienced parent around who is more than happy to answer your questions or show you what to do.

We do require that a parent/guardian is present at any activity that is conducted by the Centre. This includes Saturday competition and training. Participants may not be allowed to compete if this requirement is not met.

Little Athletics supports Federal and New South Wales legislation in regards to child protection. We require that every Parent, Guardian or Volunteer present at any activity that our Centre conducts complete a working with children check.
